When you need a pick me up

Lately my language school has been sucking the life out of me and when that happens I treat myself to something usually food or a drink. One of my favorite Japanese foods is mochi which is made out of rice, it is sweet with a gummy texture and can come in any flavor you want. Lucky for me it is a less than ten minute walk to Mochi Cream at Akihabara station.

They have plenty of types for you to try though I'm a bit picky cause sometimes the filling, like with most mochi, is somewhat gritty. Therefore I prefer those types that use just cream and jelly.

My favorite is the Double Mango, it is nice that Japan caters to my love of mango flavored sweets. For now until I can find mochi ice cream, which is just like these but with ice cream inside instead of normal cream, I will gladly enjoy these sweets. I've also tried the White Chocolate, Honey Cranberry and the Chocolate Banana flavors but still Mango beats the others. There are some odd ones as always in Japan like sweet potato, black sesame, and green soy bean.

I think it is important to treat yourself every so often and something small like this doesn't even upset one's diet.
